FIRST ANNOUNCEMENTS
JERRY SEINFELD
November 1 – MEO Arena
Comedy legend Jerry Seinfeld will perform live in Portugal for the first time as the headliner of the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest on November 1 at the MEO Arena.
Jerry Seinfeld’s career took off after his first appearance on *The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson* in 1981. Eight years later, he teamed up with fellow comedian Larry David to create what would become one of the most successful comedy series in television history: *Seinfeld*. The series aired on NBC for nine seasons, winning numerous Emmy, Golden Globe, and People’s Choice Awards. In 2009, it was named the best television show of all time by TV Guide, and in 2012, it was voted the best sitcom ever in a poll conducted by 60 Minutes and Vanity Fair.
Among his most recent Emmy-nominated projects for Netflix are *Jerry Before Seinfeld* and *23 Hours to Kill*, as well as the acclaimed web series *Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee*. Seinfeld has also starred in, written, and produced films such as *Comedian* and *Bee Movie*; directed and produced the Broadway hit *Colin Quinn: Long Story Short*; and authored three best-selling books (*Is This Anything?*, *The Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee Book*, and *Seinlanguage*), as well as the children’s book *Halloween*. He also starred in the Emmy-nominated comedy film *Unfrosted*, which he directed, co-wrote, and produced. Jerry Seinfeld continues to perform regularly, both in the United States and internationally.
HERMAN & OCTETO
STAND-UP – October 29 – Coliseu dos Recreios
Herman José’s shows are like fingerprints: no two are alike. At a breakneck pace, he revisits more than four decades of his career through his iconic characters—Feliz & Contente, Serafim Saudade, Tony Silva, Maximiana, Nelo—interwoven with behind-the-scenes stories, stand-up moments, and a strong musical component. From “Saca o Saca Rolhas” to “Canção do Beijinho,” from “Serafim Saudade” to “És tão boa,” the show spans several generations. Herman José is a staple of Portuguese comedy, and he simply had to be part of the first edition of the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest.
BURST THE BUBBLE – WITH CÉSAR MOURÃO, VASCO PALMEIRIM, PEDRO RIBEIRO, AND VERA FERNANDES
IMPROV – October 30 – Sagres Campo Pequeno
César Mourão, Vasco Palmeirim, Pedro Ribeiro, and Vera Fernandes bring “Rebenta a Bolha”—one of Portugal’s most popular comedy phenomena, which originated and gained traction on Rádio Comercial’s “Manhãs da Rádio Comercial” show—to the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest. In this high-speed live improv format, accompanied by a band, César Mourão crafts stories in real time based on challenges issued on stage, in a game where each new word must follow a predetermined letter—and where everything can spiral into absurdity in a matter of seconds.
With an unpredictable pace and contagious energy, “Rebenta a Bolha” blends comedy, camaraderie, and controlled chaos, featuring strong audience interaction and unique moments that never repeat themselves. A surprise guest has already been confirmed for this special show. It’s a show where the rule is simple, but the result is always unexpected—and often hilarious.
NAMASTÊ – INÊS AIRES PEREIRA
STAND-UP – October 29 – Coliseu dos Recreios
After nearly two decades performing on a wide variety of stages, bringing countless characters to life in film, television, and theater, Inês Aires Pereira has debuted a format all her own. While in recent years we’ve been moved by her characters—who have made us laugh and feel emotional in different ways—this time it is she herself who takes center stage, unfiltered, unguarded, and without personas.
*Namastê* is Inês Aires Pereira’s first solo show. During a period of great transformation, restlessness, frustration, and vulnerability, she began her journey of self-discovery, and now she shares what’s in her soul with the audience at the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest.
POP TRIBUTE – WITH CAROLINA DESLANDES, TATANKA, AND BÁRBARA TINOCO
MUSIC – October 31 – Sagres Campo Pequeno
Carolina Deslandes, Tatanka, and Bárbara Tinoco take the stage to revisit the Portuguese folk songbook and the choruses we all know by heart, even when we pretend we don’t.
At the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest, Carolina Deslandes sings Nel Monteiro, Tatanka interprets Quim Barreiros, and Bárbara Tinoco takes on Rosinha, in a contemporary take that blends collective memory with new musical and performative approaches. The songs serve as a starting point for what unfolds on stage: versions that diverge from the originals, moments of improvisation, and a constant dialogue between the artists, the repertoire, and the audience. A well-deserved tribute to Portuguese pop music.
TRUQUE – CLARICE FALCÃO
MUSIC – October 31 – Capitólio
One of the most prominent figures in contemporary Brazilian culture, Clarice Falcão—also known for her work with the Porta dos Fundos collective—is a singer, songwriter, actress, and screenwriter. In the show based on her visual album *Truque*, which premieres in Portugal at the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest, she explores different phases of her artistic journey in a format that blends music and storytelling. The setlist features previously unreleased tracks and maintains the writing style marked by sarcasm and humor—traits that define her work. On stage, she blends references to Brazilian music with more electronic elements, in a format that alternates between musical and performative moments.
CEBOLA MOL
MUSIC – October 31 – Capitólio
Cebola Mol returns to the stage at the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest, promising a show that oscillates between deliberate chaos and accidental brilliance. On October 31, at Capitólio, the duo will present an unpredictable setlist that blends new songs with some of their “classics,” always in a disconcerting, irreverent, and deliberately out-of-control style. Between the real possibility that they might forget to go on stage and the certainty that nothing will follow a conventional script, the audience can expect an uncomfortably memorable night. Or not. In any case, better safe than sorry: bring a jacket.CEBOLA MOL

CUCA MONGA
MUSIC – October 29 – Capitólio
On October 29, the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest welcomes the world of Cuca Monga in a show that brings to the Capitólio the collective and free-spirited atmosphere that gave rise to “Cuca Vida.” Born during lockdown, this project brought together remotely some 20 musicians and collaborators (including members of Capitão Fausto, Ganso, Luís Severo, Rapaz Ego, and Zarco) in a spontaneous creative process that, in less than two months, resulted in ten songs.
More than just an album, “Cuca Vida” stands as a manifesto of artistic freedom, where genres, aesthetics, and styles intersect without rules, reflecting the friendship, humor, and camaraderie that define Cuca Monga’s DNA. On stage, this energy translates into a unique and unrepeatable experience, where collective celebration takes precedence over any fixed format—an open, lively concert that is constantly evolving.
MEO COMMEDIA A LA CARTE, A FESTIVAL THAT IS A LEGACY
In 2025, Commedia a La Carte celebrated its 25th anniversary. A quarter-century of making several generations laugh, improvising without a safety net, and proving that humor can be one of the most powerful bonds uniting a community. To mark this milestone, César Mourão, Carlos M. Cunha, and Gustavo Miranda presented a new season across mainland Portugal and the islands, to which they are now adding a comedy festival bearing their name—created to serve as a meeting place for artists and audiences alike, and to transform Lisbon into a true capital of laughter.
More than just a festival, this will be a grand celebration of humor for all ages. There will be programming specifically dedicated to children and families, while adult audiences can enjoy more irreverent shows. As always, Commedia a La Carte has its sights set on the future, and this festival also serves as an extension of the work they have been doing to train new generations of artists. The Commedia a La Carte Kids project, composed exclusively of female artists, will continue to play a central role, promoting inclusion and diversity in the world of comedy and ensuring that new generations have their own space and visibility.
The MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest was born from the vision of Aquele Abraço, which invited Last Tour to take on executive production, joining forces in a partnership rooted in creativity, innovation, and a passion for entertainment. The quality that defines Aquele Abraço’s projects—which have left their mark on Portuguese comedy, film, music, and television in recent years—combines with the experience and global reach of Last Tour, one of the most important event promoters in the Iberian Peninsula. Together, they ensure that this festival will be a unique experience. More news will be revealed soon.
LISBON
Lisbon is not only the setting for the MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest; it is one of its main protagonists, with EGEAC—Lisboa Cultura serving as co-producer of the shows at the municipal venues Capitólio and Cinema São Jorge. The capital has always held a special place in the history of Portuguese comedy, having been the stage for some of the country’s greatest icons of comedy and revue theater.
The MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest restores comedy’s leading role in the city and across the country, with shows at various iconic venues, centered around the unmissable Parque Mayer. Capitólio, Sagres Campo Pequeno, Coliseu dos Recreios, and MEO Arena are just a few of the venues, among others to be announced soon, that will host a program featuring curated selections in each category, including performances by established national and international comedians, new voices in stand-up, improv comedy, film, theater, music, storytelling sessions, circus and street arts, talks, workshops, masterclasses, and interactive experiences. There will also be food courts and bars, which will help create an immersive atmosphere where the city, culture, and gastronomy come together.
